Black Friday

You know you're a suburbanite when... on Black Friday the first deals you look for is in the Home Depot (HD) ad!  When I opened up ad, I (Julia) was super excited about the regularly priced $99 wet/dry shop vac on sale for $28.88!  That's a 70% discount!  Since we had to make a trip to HD anyway, I figure I would try to convince Dave that we needed a $28 shop vac. :)  My main argument was that I did not want to use our nice $500 Dyson to vaccum up sawdust, the cars, or any other non ordinary household dirt.  And if we ever had another flood in the kitchen or a flood in the basement, we could use the shop vac to suck up all the water!  My sound arguments and the $28 price tag were all that Dave needed for him to agree to it... so we came home with our very own shop vac!  I tried it out in our living room and it worked great!  We had sawdust all over the room because Dave was sanding down wood and the shop vac quickly sucked it all up.  The shop vac is super light, which is nice, but it is a little bulky (16 gallon).  We don't really need one this big, but at the price, we weren't complaining! 

It is worth mentioning that we also TRIED going to our ghetto KMart to get some baby gates for our dog so we could work in the living room and not have him come in and grab pieces of wood or tools.   We were shocked to see the number of people at KMart!   The way people were buying things you'd think the stuff was free!  We quickly realized that this was an epic fail, and ran out of the store.
